His martial arts novels greatly influenced Chinese popular culture. 查良镛是一位文学巨匠，大家都知道的是他的笔名金庸。他的武侠小说在很大程度上影响了中国大众文化。 Born in 1924 in China’s Zhejiang Province, Cha moved to Hong Kong in the 1940s. His first novel in the Wuxia genre, The Book and The Sword (1955), was an instant success. 金庸出生于1924年，中国浙江省，在20世纪40年代移居香港。他的第一部武侠小说—（在1955年写的）《书剑恩仇录》，这部小说迅速获得成功。 He went on to write 14 popular novels that inspired films, TV series, games and other creative productions. The Return of the Condor Heroes was adapted for a film and TV series that were popular worldwide. 他连续写了14部受欢迎的小说，这些小说给电影、电视据、游戏以及其他一些创作性作品赋予了无限灵感。《神雕侠侣》被改编成电影和电视剧，并在全世界广泛流行。 Cha’s works were also widely translated.He sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. Cha was also a respected journalist and founder of Hong Kong’s Ming Pao Newspaper. Cha died in hospital on October 30,2018, after a long illness, aged 94. 金庸的作品也被广泛译成其它语言。他的小说的销量已经达到了1亿多册。他也是一位令人尊敬的新闻记者，同时又是香港的《明报》报社创办人。金庸在久病之后于2018年10月30日在医院去世，享年94岁。
