神华集团有限责任公司（简称神华集团）是于1995年10月经国务院批准设立的国有独资公司，是中央直管国有重要骨干企业，是以煤为基础，电力、铁路、港口、航运、煤制油与煤化工为一体，产运销一条龙经营的特大型能源企业，是我国规模最大、现代化程度最高的煤炭企业和世界上最大的煤炭经销商。公司主要经营国务院授权范围内的国有资产、开发煤炭等资源性产品，进行电力、热力、港口、铁路、航运、煤制油、煤化工等行业领域的投资、管理；规划、组织、协调、管理神华集团所属企业在上述行业领域内的生产经营活动。神华集团总部设在北京。由神华集团独家发起成立的中国神华能源股份有限公司分别在香港、上海上市。神华集团在2011年度《财富》全球500强企业中排名第293位。

截至2011年底，神华集团共有全资和控股子公司20家，生产煤矿62个，投运电厂总装机容量4,283万千瓦，拥有1,466.53公里的自营铁路、1亿吨吞吐能力的黄骅港、4,500万吨吞吐能力的天津煤码头和现有船舶12艘的航运公司，总资产6,269亿元，在册员工17.65万。

2011年，神华集团深入贯彻落实科学发展观，以加快转变发展方式为主线，精心组织生产经营，着力推进结构调整、节能减排、科技创新、管理创新和人才队伍建设，努力提高发展的质量和效益，提前两年实现“五年经济总量翻番”的战略目标，向“建设具有国际竞争力的世界一流煤炭综合能源企业”宏伟目标迈进，实现了“十二五”良好开局。

2011年，神华集团生产原煤4.07亿吨、百万吨死亡率0.018，商品煤销售5.03亿吨，自营铁路运量完成3.2亿吨，发电2,099亿度，港口吞吐量完成1.26亿吨，营业收入2,803亿元，利润总额742亿元。神华集团国有资本保值增值率处于行业优秀水平，企业经济贡献率连续多年居全国煤炭行业第一，年利润总额在中央直管企业中名列前茅，安全生产多年来保持世界先进水平。

Shenhua Group Corporation Limited

Established in October 1995, Shenhua Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Shenhua”) is a key state-owned enterprise (“SOE”) under the direct supervision of the Chinese central government. It is a large coal-based integrated energy enterprise with businesses involved in coal production, electricity generation, railway transport, port, shipping, coal-to-liquids and coal-to-chemicals, and runs a complete supply chain covering production, transportation and trade. It is also the largest and most modernized coal company in China and the largest coal supplier in the world. Its main business scope includes running of state-owned assets authorized by the State Council; development of resources products (such as coal); investment and management in those sectors as electricity generation, thermal power generation, port, railway transport, shipping, coal-to-liquids and coal-to-chemicals; and planning, organization, coordination and management of operation of its subsidiaries in the above-mentioned sectors. Shenhua is headquartered in Beijing. China Shenhua Energy Company Limited, one of its major subsidiaries, is dual-listed on the Stock Exchanges of Hong Kong and Shanghai. Shenhua was ranked at 293rd on the Fortune Global 500, 2011.

By the end of 2011, Shenhua has 20 wholly-owned or controlling subsidiaries, 62 operating mines, power plants with total installed capacity of 42,830 MW, a total self-owned railway length of 1,466.53 km, Huanghua Port and Tianjin Coal Terminal with a throughput capacity of 100 million tonnes and 45 million tonnes respectively and a shipping company with 12 vessels. It has total assets worth RMB626.9 billion and 176,436 employees. In 2011, Shenhua further took forward the scientific vision on development. By stressing on its main guideline of accelerating the transformation of development mode, the company meticulously planned and organized its production, while steadily pushing forward structural adjustment. Other strategic goals such as energy-saving and emission reduction, technology and management innovation and the formation of the pool of talented personnel had been actively pursued in an effort to improve the quality and efficiency of our development. The company has achieved the strategic goal of “doubling the economic aggregate within five years” two years ahead of schedule and is stepping forward to build the Company into a world-class coal-based integrated energy company with global competitiveness, all of which formed a successful beginning for “the 12th Five-Year Plan” period.

In 2011, Shenhua’s raw coal output reached 407 million tonnes with fatality rate of 0.018 per million tonnes; sales volume of commercial coal was 503 million tonnes; volume of coal transported by selfowned railway was 320 million tonnes; electricity generation was 209.9 billion kwh; and port throughput reached 126 million tonnes. Total operating income amounted to RMB280 billion and total profits reached RMB74.2 billion. Shenhua was one of the best in the industry in terms of capital value preservation and appreciation rate, and ranked No. 1 in the coal industry for years in a row in corporate contribution to the national economy, and was one of the best among central SOEs in terms of total annual profit. The Company has also been a world-leader in safe production for years.

Looking into the future, Shenhua has initiated its new development strategy of “Pursuing scientific development, re-shaping Shenhua and doubling the economic aggregate within five years, and building the Company into a world-class coal-based integrated energy company with global competitiveness”.
